Are you interested in contributing to our blog?

Intended to entertain, educate, inspire, and raise awareness to the problems of addiction and the potential for recovery, our blog covers a wide variety of topics related to addiction and recovery.

If you have a knack for writing, or another perspective on any of the issues covered here, and want to make a difference in someone's life, we invite you to submit an article for publication in our blog.

Although the Pir2Peer Recovery Community Center is located in Millinocket, Maine, our blog blog is visited by people far outside of our region, and is not constrained to local issues.

Perhaps you have knowledge of relevant topics that we haven't gotten to yet, or may not even be aware of. You may have done research in a particular area of addiction, addiction treatment, or addiction recovery, and would like to share your knowledge on the subject.

Maybe you'd like to highlight a program that you have found to be especially helpful in addiction treatment or recovery, or you might even be associated with such a program. We're not looking for obvious advertising here, but there's nothing wrong with letting people know what you do and how it works. If your program is active in Maine, we'd surely like to hear about it. If it's outside of Maine, we'd probably still be interested.

Personal stories can also be helpful, and may include such things as the struggles you've faced during your own path to recovery, including how you coped, your support system, or lack thereof, and what it was like for you then, and now. Being mindful of privacy, you should consider changing names and places in order to avoid disclosing information that might be used to identify yourself or others. Although you might be comfortable disclosing your name and identifying information, others involved in your story may not be.

If you're a spouse, partner, friend, or family member of someone struggling with addiction or in recovery, your insight and experiences could help others who are in a similar position. As mentioned above, please consider privacy issues.

The range of topics appropriate to this blog is large, and probably includes several that haven't been specifically mentioned here.

As a rule of thumb, log posts should be from 500 to 2,000 words, although shorter or longer ones will be considered and probably accepted, based on content.

Submitted blog articles may be published anonymously or attributed to the author, according to your wishes. Articles may be edited for grammar, spelling, or legal concerns.
